Elevator maintenance fees are currently charged by the housing management organization. That is, settlement with specialized organizations occurs through the housing office or a cooperative, and not directly. This payment scheme often led to conflict situations when the entire cooperative had to pay for negligent neighbors who did not pay for the elevator on time for example. Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex Issues Anton Onufrienko proposed to amend the Housing Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Today the relevant committee considered the document in the second reading.
The legal services of specialized elevator organizations will be directly involved in working with debtors after the changes to the Housing Code come into force. The Agro-Industrial Complex Committee will recommend to the Supreme Council to adopt the law-in-draft in the final reading.
