The government presented for consideration by the PMR Supreme Council deputies the Forecast of socio-economic development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2025. The document was reviewed in the first reading by the relevant parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance at its meeting online.

The risks of a negative scenario for the development of the situation will prevail in 2025, as the Government representative noted.

The trend of low investment activity in Pridnestrovie will continue under the influence of external factors in 2025, as noted at the meeting of the Economic Policy Committee. A negative dynamics of industrial output – within -8% compared to the current year’s estimate is also among the likely ones.

The forecast for the socio-economic development of the PMR was compiled taking into account data for mid-May of this year. Minister of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik noted that it contains the most current data and takes into account not only the current restrictive measures, but also the expectations of our economic agents.

The Committee deputies expressed the opinion that there should also be a place for forecast indicators for income, expenses and the consolidated budget deficit in the Forecast of Social and Economic Development, in addition to the information presented, in their opinion.

The document will be submitted to one of the next plenary meetings of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. It is planned that the deputies will adopt the Forecast of socio-economic development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2025 before going on parliamentary holidays.
