The Committee on Legislation considered and prepared a number of relevant legislations for discussion at the upcoming plenary sessions.

Law-in-draft of the Government amending the law “On State Duty” has been prepared for the second reading. The initiative concerns changes in the size of the state fee for the provision of legal services and for the issuance of documents by state authorities and officials. Deputies of the relevant committee proposed to adjust and reduce the amounts for many points of the law-in-draft. The proposals of the deputies are presented in the form of amendments.

In addition, deputies considered over 50 amendments prepared to the law-in-draft “On advocacy and the legal profession in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” In the course of the meeting. This law-in-draft will replace the law “On Attorneyship” that has been in force for 30 years. The new law will spell out current norms aimed at streamlining the activities of lawyers in the territory of Pridnestrovie.

The Legislation Committee has prepared law-in-draft to amend the Criminal Code for consideration in the second reading. The authors of the initiative parliamentarians Galina Antyufeyeva and Grigory Dyachenko propose that Article 278 of the code, which establishes criminal liability for inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, be supplemented with such characteristics as language and origin.
