Work on amendments to the 2024 budget law continues

The Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance continues to work on introducing amendments and additions to the law on the republican budget for 2024, which provide for an increase in salaries for teachers and doctors.

Amendments to the law provide for changes in the expenditure and revenue parts of the consolidated budget. A total of about 401 million rubles are planned for salary increases. Teachers' salaries should increase from February 1. It is planned to increase salaries in the healthcare sector from April 1 along with the transition to a pilot salary project.

The legislative initiative of the Government requires approval of the balances of funds generated as of January 1, 2024 – this is 324 million rubles. About 250 million rubles of these are targeted funds, including reserves for targeted budget funds. The rest of the money should go to paying off the budget deficit, including increasing salaries for teachers and doctors.

It is envisaged as part of this legislative initiative to increase funding for state support to the population in the amount of about 42 million rubles. The allocation of funds for the implementation of the second stage of introducing an automated fare payment system. Another 12 million rubles are planned to be spent on the development of the drinking water supply system in populated areas of the republic and the improvement of rural areas, as well as the restoration of roads in rural areas. Additional limits are provided for the Development Fund for the Reclamation Complex and an increase in expenses for the Capital Investment Fund (including for the city stadium in the city of Dnestrovsk and the renovation of several kindergartens and schools in Kamenka district).

Parliamentarians will consider the law-in-draft in the second final reading in the course of the plenary session on Tuesday, February 27.
