The state program for the prevention of HIV/AIDS infection continues to operate

Deputies of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare discussed the report on "Prevention of HIV / AIDS infection and sexually transmitted infections in the PMR for 2020-2024" state target program implementation in 2022.

The main directions of the state program last year were epidemiological surveillance in the most vulnerable risk groups and raising public awareness about HIV / AIDS infection, including in groups at high risk of infection. The state program provided medical and social assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS/STIs, as well as their families.

34641 people totally were tested for HIV last year. This is 2275 more people than in 2021. Despite quarantine restrictions, within the framework of the state program, specialists of the State Institution "Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases" during 2022 held seminars, trainings and mass thematic events aimed at increasing the level of knowledge of the population about HIV / AIDS infection. Rapid testing for HIV and hepatitis B and C was carried out for everyone. 908 people were tested in total. 4 people of these tested positive for HIV.

According to official statistics, 165 cases were registered with an established diagnosis of HIV infection in 2022. This is 4 more than the year before. This diagnosis has not been registered among children. As of the end of 2022, there are 2418 patients with HIV/AIDS infection registered in the dispensary in Pridnestrovie.

4 million 158 thousand 611 rubles were allocated from the republican budget for the implementation of the program activities last year. This is 97% of the planned funds.
