Breast cancer is most often detected (25.5%) for women, tumors of the trachea, bronchi and lungs (16.2%) for men. According to the Ministry of Healthcare, the growth in indicators is associated with a difficult epidemiological situation in 2020-2021, when the level of diagnostics has significantly decreased. However, the epidemiological situation in the republic improved and more people managed to get tested last year. The number of diagnosed malignant neoplasms increased accordingly.
More and more neoplasms began to be detected in the early stages - this is 56.5% of the total number of cases, according to the Ministry of Health. For comparison, 10 years ago this figure was 48.4%. The main item of expenditure in the estimate of the state program "Oncology: improving oncological care for the population of the PMR for 2021-2025" last year was the provision of patients with quality medical care, namely, chemotherapy and hormone therapy.
