Deputies of the Committee on Legislation, Protection of the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens considered in the course of the meeting the legislations relating to the rights of suspected and accused mothers. We are talking about changes adopted already in the first reading, which will allow children under 4 years of age to be near a suspected or accused mother. The law currently grants this right until children reach 3 years of age.

The Committee prepared amendments for the second reading. It is proposed to establish the right to additional visits with a child under 14 years of age on weekends and holidays. Deputies want to give this right to a suspected or accused woman, as well as a man if he is the only parent.

The corresponding amendments to the law “On the detention of suspects and accused of committing crimes” and to the Criminal Executive Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic will be considered in the second reading at one of the plenary meetings of the Supreme Council.
