Deputies of the Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare prepared for consideration the law-in-draft “On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of the PMR” in the second reading. This is a legislative initiative of a group of deputies of the committee and it concerns the widows of military personnel and citizens equated to them in pension provision, who died in the line of duty or died as a result of military injury in peacetime.
The initiative of the deputies assumes that the widows of military personnel will have the right to receive two pensions at the same time: a survivor's pension and their own pension, on condition that the widow did not remarry.
Deputies of the Committee will recommend to the Supreme Council to adopt the law-in-draft in the final reading. The law should come into force on January 1, 2022. Prior to the adoption of the budget for next year, the relevant committee will work out the question of how much money will need to be allocated for the payment of pensions for this category of widows.
