Elevator maintenance must be paid be owners if no one is registered in a high-rise apartment. Such an initiative was made by the Bendery City Council of People's Deputies, which introduced a draft of amendments and additions to the Housing Code. The law-in-draft was discussed by deputies of the Committee on Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Housing and Communal Services today.
“The problem with paying for the operation of elevators has existed for a long time. There are those who leave the republic and do not pay receipts for the elevator. Also, the elevator issue becomes a stumbling block in the commissioning of housing. The Bendery City Council proposes to change the situation, but this initiative will not solve the problem systematically,” Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Regional Policy Anton Onufrienko expressed his opinion.
The deputies of the Committee after discussing the law-in-draft decided to support it and continue work in the second reading if it is adopted by the deputy corps in the first reading. For example, there is a proposal to charge a fee for elevator maintenance based on the square meters of apartments. The issue is planned to be discussed in the course of the plenary session on the 15th of February when considering the law-in-draft of the Bendery City Council.
