Criminal liability will be introduced in Pridnestrovie for public dissemination of information expressing obvious disrespect to society about the days of military glory and memorable dates of the USSR and the PMR associated with the defense of the Fatherland, as well as the desecration of the symbols of military glory of the USSR and the PMR, insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland or humiliation of the honor and dignity of veterans Great Patriotic War.
The amendments to the Criminal Code were initiated by the deputies of the Committee on Legislation Galina Antyufeyeva, Valery Babchinetsky, Oleg Petrik and Stepan Stepanov. The law-in-draft was considered in the course of the meeting of the profile committee.
The Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was responsible for desecration of the symbols of Russia's military glory. The code was supplemented in April of this year with a rule prohibiting insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland or humiliating the honor and dignity of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
They also want to prescribe these norms in the Pridnestrovian legislation. These are public appearances in the media or on the Internet.
The deputies of the Legislation Committee supported the adoption of the law-in-draft. The document will be considered in the first reading during one of the plenary sessions.
