The law “On the PMR law enforcement agencies” will be adopted in Pridnestrovie. The law-in-draft was sent by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky. The document was developed within the framework of the Development Strategy of Pridnestrovie and taking into account changes in the law enforcement sphere. The law will include scientific achievements, domestic and foreign experience in the functioning of law enforcement agencies.
As noted in the explanation to the law-in-draft, legal relations in the field of protecting public order and public safety are regulated by the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic “On the Militia”; a significant number of amendments and additions have been made to it, and by-laws have been adopted to fill gaps. The Law “On the Militia” will continue to operate in the legal field of the republic, despite the adoption of the new law “On the PMR law enforcement agencies”. The new law will focus on the legislative definition of the system of internal affairs bodies, which includes the militia, organizations and units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Certain provisions for service will be regulated and the anti-corruption component in the work of internal affairs bodies will be strengthened.
The law includes two sections: “On the PMR law enforcement agencies” and “Public service in the internal affairs agencies”. The rights and obligations of employees are prescribed, the procedure for concluding a contract and the grounds for its termination are approved. The law pays attention to official discipline. The legal status of cadets of the Tiraspol Law Institute is determined.
According to the author, the new law will improve the efficiency of the professional work of internal affairs officers in general. Deputies of the Committee on Legislation, Protection of Rights and Freedoms of Citizens decided to recommend that the deputy corps adopt the law-in-draft in the first reading. It will be submitted for consideration to the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the near future. Amendments in connection with the consideration of the new law are being made to several more laws in one package.
