The Committee on Agriculture, Transport, Construction, Natural Resources and Ecology held a working meeting. It was a completely new legal framework for the law-in- draft "On Road Traffic Safety", or rather, on the proposals, which could potentially be amended to the document when considering the second reading. Earlier, this legislative initiative was proposed by a group of deputies and adopted in the first reading April 13 this year. A similar law-in-draft was introduced already to the Supreme Council of the former head of state, Igor Smirnov, but in 2012 was withdrawn by the new President Yevgeny Shevchuk. The law-in- draft is a comprehensive document that defines the legal basis of road safety in the country.

Participants of the workshop were stakeholders - both deputies and representatives of the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Justice. One of the discussed proposals concerned possibility to accept as evidence a photo and video materials on any media, including a video recorder. It should be noted that in the Russian Federation, which is harmonized with Pridnestrovian legislation, the law obliging the courts in administrative cases take as a mandatory proof of photo, video. The same proposal was approved by the workshop participants. However, as the possibility of writing from the hand of power of attorney, which allows to drive the vehicle to other persons with the consent of its owner.

A separate topic of conversation was the termination of the driver's license in connection with the loss, expiry or bringing it into disrepair.

All proposals voiced during the workshop will be considered as a specialized committee of the amendments to the law-in-draft "On Road Traffic Safety". Parliamentarians intend to make things easier for drivers, but not to the detriment of road safety.
