Measures for children protection

The Government initiated amendments to the Criminal Code regarding the strengthening of responsibility for the improper fulfillment of responsibilities for the upbringing and maintenance of children. It was proposed to double the sentence in the form of compulsory work - up to 480 hours. According to the author, if a parent or other person charged with the responsibility of raising a minor does not abuse the child properly, it is necessary to provide for a fine in the form of a fine from 200 to 700 MW (today up to 350 MW) or compulsory work for a period of 220 to 480 hours.

The law-in-draft on amendments to the Criminal Code will be recommended by the Legislation Committee for adoption in the first reading at the plenary meeting.
