Members of the profile committee discussed a number of legislations of social orientation, presented as a legislative initiative by the Federation of Trade Unions of Pridnestrovie and colleagues on the deputy corps. Among them – there is an initiative of legislators Vadim Kravchuk and Andrei Safonov. The authors propose to amend the law "On Social Protection of War Veterans", which establishes the right of free travel within the republic to the place of treatment and back to the participants in the hostilities. The basis for the development of this initiative was the numerous appeals of the participants in the fighting for the protection of Pridnestrovie, as well as military operations in the territory of other states that ask to resolve the issue of free travel to the place of treatment and back to the hospital of veterans of the Great Patriotic War located in Tiraspol. To date, veterans living in Tiraspol and Bendery have such a right. They have the possibility of free travel to the hospital of the Second World War, where they receive an annual rehabilitation and treatment course. Participants in hostilities, residents of other cities and settlements of the republic are forced to pay for travel themselves.
First Deputy Minister for Social Protection and Labor Oleg Fedotov agreed that the proposal is correct, necessary, but for its implementation, funds are needed
A member of the Committee on Social Policy, Health, Labor, Family and Childhood Issues, Vladimir Pelin, supported the law-in-draft.
During the discussion of the issue, it was decided to support the legislative initiative of Vadim Kravchuk and Andrei Safonov and recommend it for consideration in the first reading.
