The Supreme Council held a meeting of the Committee on Regional Policy, Local Government and Housing and Public Utilities. One of the issues on the agenda was the amendments to the Law "On Drinking Water Supply" proposed by the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The law-in-draft proposes to supplement the law with provisions on the conclusion of water supply contracts, which will regulate the terms of service provision, standard forms of contracts, as well as the rights and obligations of water supply organizations and consumers. It is also proposed to grant the right to water supply organizations to conduct inspections: scheduled – to control the accuracy of meter readings and unscheduled – upon consumer appeals.
The law-in-draft on amendments and additions to the law "On drinking water supply in the PMR" will be included in the agenda of one of the next plenary sessions. The relevant committee will recommend that the deputy corps adopt the law-in-draft in the first reading and continue working on it in the second reading, taking into account the opinions of all interested parties.
