The first meeting of the Committee on Regional Policy, Local Self-Government and Housing and Public Utilities took place after the summer holidays today. One of the main issues on the agenda is changes and additions to the PMR Housing Code. The initiative was initiated by the deputies of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva, Stepan Stepanov, Oleg Petrik and Valery Babchinetsky. The law-in-draft aims to protect the rights of children who live with parents or guardians in public housing under a commercial or social tenancy agreement. In cases where the tenant dies, the child, as a member of the tenant's family, legally remains there, but only under the supervision of an adult. The initiative and amendments to it propose to establish that in such situations, the consent of the landlord, tenant and other family members is not required to move a guardian or trustee to a minor. The deputies considered the amendments to the law-in-draft and recommended it for consideration at the plenary session.
