Deputies and representatives of the Government discussed amendments to the law on the budget for the current year in the course of the regular meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance. This is due to the need to approve and redistribute the budget balances that were formed on the 1st of January, 2023.
The rest is planned to be used to increase spending on some funds and government targeted programs, in particular, under the Capital Investment Fund, under the program to support agriculture and the reclamation complex of the republic. The parliamentarians in the course of the meeting of the Committee considered more than a hundred amendments that were received from the subjects of the legislative initiative in the process of preparing the law-in-draft for the second reading. It also provides for the creation of a financial reserve in the republican budget, the so-called "airbag". This is due to the foreign economic and foreign policy situation around Pridnestrovie. Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov noted, that the experience of the last year showed that such an approach to the formation of the republican budget justified itself.
The deputies will consider tomorrow all the amendments at the plenary session of the Supreme Council and make a final decision on them.
The Parliament received the Decree of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the extension of the state of emergency in the republic for another 20 days, until April 20 of this year. The Economic Policy Committee unanimously supported this decision. The deputies of the Supreme Council of the PMR will have to approve the Presidential Decree on the extension of the state of emergency in Pridnestrovie at the plenary session on March 23.
