Changes in education

16.12.2021

Meeting of the parliamentary committee on education, public associations and the media took place today. The agenda includes legislations in the sphere of higher, additional and general education, as well as the redistribution of funds under the state program for the preservation of cultural monuments.

It is proposed to consolidate the norm according to which persons receiving primary or secondary, or higher vocational education can simultaneously obtain additional qualifications in the law-in-draft "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic", which the Committee considered in the second reading. According to the developers, this will allow them to be more competitive and meet modern socio-economic requirements. For example, students enrolled in medical specialties during the training period will be able to obtain additional qualifications as a massage therapist.

The sphere of higher education is concerned with law-in-draft that will fix the norm that training in master's programs and obtaining a master's qualification (degree) is possible with a bachelor's degree in the same field of study or a specialist's diploma. The Committee will recommend to the Supreme Council to adopt amendments to the legislation in the second reading.

Funds to finance repair work in the building of the Bender-2 railway station in 2022 will be redirected to the urgent restoration of historical buildings - Flemmer's dacha and the observation tower. The Committee on Education, Public Associations and the Media prepared amendments to the state program for the preservation of cultural heritage sites for the second reading. The Supreme Council will receive them at one of the plenary sessions in the near future.
