The state target program for the restoration of the reclamation industry was adopted in the first reading by the Supreme Council this year on June 23. Pridnestrovie is located in the zone of risky agriculture therefore farms cannot guarantee a stable harvest without artificial irrigation. The new state program is aimed at creating additional jobs and reducing the volume of imported products, which in turn should ensure the food security of Pridnestrovie. Deputies of the Supreme Council, representatives of the Government and land users took part in the preparation of the program. The objects of the reclamation complex were selected, which needed to be repaired, the calculation of costs and the plan of measures for restoration were drawn up. The program was originally designed for 6 years. However, due to the fact that in the past and this year the state was forced to direct large financial resources to fight the pandemic, the timing of the start of the program has shifted. In this regard, the profile committee on the agro-industrial complex proposed to amend the law-in-draft and change the years of the program implementation - from 2022 to 2026. The original version was from 2021 to 2026.
The Agro-Industrial Complex Committee will recommend to the Supreme Council to adopt the state target program for the restoration and development of the reclamation complex in the final reading.
