Deputies of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance considered in the first reading a package of legislative initiatives designed to develop green energy in Pridnestrovie and attract investment in this sector of the economy. The draft laws were prepared and sent to parliament by the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. These are amendments and additions to the laws "On state support for investment activities", "On corporate income tax", "On land fees" and the Customs Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The government proposes to stimulate the introduction of electricity production using renewable energy sources in order to compensate for the energy deficit through the widespread use of alternative energy sources and energy-saving technologies, as well as to create favorable conditions and introduce incentive mechanisms for investors and Pridnestrovian entrepreneurs.

It is proposed to amend the law on land tax, which will exempt legal entities that own equipment that produces electricity from renewable sources from paying land tax for 5 years. It is proposed to apply these tax benefits from the first day of the month when the generating station begins its work. Another tax initiative is to exempt alternative energy organizations from paying income tax – for a period of five years. It is proposed to introduce the benefit from the first day of the month when revenue from sales is first received.

The development of legislation to promote green energy is carried out in accordance with the Presidential Decree "On measures aimed at developing energy and stimulating the introduction of electricity production using renewable energy sources in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". The proposed measures will reduce dependence on natural gas and increase the energy security of the republic, as noted by the Government. The Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance recommends the package of legislative initiatives for adoption in the first reading at the next plenary session of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
