How “The Textbook” State Target Program worked last year was discussed at the regular meeting of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and the Media. The corresponding report to the Committee deputies was presented by the Deputy Minister of Education of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Natalya Soldatova.
526.5 thousand rubles were allocated from the republican budget for the implementation of the state program in 2023. This is 96.5% of the amount planned in the law on the re-budget for the corresponding financial year.
The republic's printing houses printed 13 textbook titles last year. There are textbooks for special correctional schools, as well as for secondary vocational education organizations among them. Much attention is paid to the publication of textbooks in the Moldavian language within the framework of the state program, including textbooks on the history of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
Deputies of the Education Committee discussed with a representative of the relevant ministry the issue of providing Pridnestrovian schools with educational literature. As Deputy Minister of Education of the PMR Natalya Soldatova noted, educational organizations of the republic have more than 675 thousand sets of textbooks today. The overall supply of textbooks is 91%. The depreciation of the educational fund is more than 67%.
The total supply of textbooks is 73%, and about 9% with new textbooks in the capital's schools. 28% of all educational literature is already worn out at the same time. The highest rates of wear and tear of textbooks are in literary reading (55%), foreign language (51%), official Moldovan language (46%), geography and the world around us (43% each), and native language (42%).
The situation is worse in the regions. The wear and tear of textbooks ranges from 72% in the Rybnitsa district to 91% in Slobodzeya district. According to disappointing forecasts, the depreciation of the educational fund in the republic as a whole may reach 100% in just a few years. According to the chairman of the relevant parliamentary Committee Igor Buga, the approach to the implementation of the program needs to be adjusted.
The report on the implementation of “The Textbook for 2022-2026” state target program for 2023 will be considered by the deputy corps at the next plenary meeting of the PMR Supreme Council.
