The Supreme Council received a draft of a new state target program concerning the development of the drinking water supply system of the republic. The document was considered in the course of the meeting by deputies of the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex, Transport, Construction and Natural Resources.
The state program is designed for 2024-2028. It is mainly aimed at providing water to villages and towns. There are settlements where there has never been a central water supply network. In other cases the supplied water does not meet sanitary rules and quality standards since the water supply systems are worn out or the artesian wells have expired. It is planned to stage-by-stage repairs, reconstruction of centralized water supply systems, development of existing water supply systems and construction of new ones.
The necessary work will be carried out in 32 settlements of the republic, 29 of which are villages and towns. The implementation of the five-year program will make it possible to provide full centralized water supply to more than 12.5 thousand consumers in the regions of the republic, according to the explanatory note to the law-in-draft.
Deputy of the Supreme Council for constituency Number 24 “Parkansky” Ivan Nedelkov was interested in the work plan to provide quality water to consumers in Parkany. The village has been facing the issue of improving water quality for several years, since many wells do not meet regulatory requirements. One of the options to solve the problem is to bring water from Tiraspol. The issue of providing the village of Parkany with quality water will be further studied. So far, deputies of the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex and Natural Resources have come out in support of the adoption of the draft state program for the development of the drinking water supply system. The law-in-draft will be considered in the first reading in the course of one of the plenary meetings of the Supreme Council.
