The State Support for Transport Organizations

The state will provide support to transport organizations engaged in the transportation of passengers on socially significant regular routes.

Deputies of the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex in the first reading considered the law-in-draft with amendments and additions to the laws "On Transport" and "On the Republican Budget for 2021".

It is proposed to supplement the Law "On Transport" with the concepts of "regular route", "flight", "socially significant regular route".

Passenger traffic on regular routes decreased by 57%, transportation became unprofitable in the context of the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19.

Even in the presence of serviceable rolling stock and a manned staff of drivers, the carrier is forced to stand idle, incurring even greater losses. People who live in remote settlements cannot get to regional centers, and there is no discount travel provided by law.

The adoption of the law-in-draft will provide an opportunity for the state to subsidize transport organizations serving socially significant regular routes in 2021 to cover the costs of fuel and lubricants at the expense of the republican budget.

The mechanism for recognizing regular routes as socially significant, as well as the procedure for providing and spending subsidies to transport organizations will be established by the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The committee will recommend to the Supreme Council to adopt the law-in-draft in two readings at once.
