The Criminal Code Amendments

The Criminal Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Article 278, which concerns liability for inciting national, racial, religious hatred, can be supplemented with such signs as language and origin. The law-in-draft was proposed by the deputies of the Committee on Legislation, Protection of the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens Galina Antyufeeva and Grigory Dyachenko. Amendments are made to prevent possible extremism based on language.

The law-in-draft is aimed at harmonization with Russian criminal legislation. Additions to the Criminal Code will be considered in the first reading at one of the plenary sessions.
