Deputies discussed social issues

Pridnestrovians, who are at the forefront in the fight against coronavirus infection, will receive seniority upon retirement - one day is counted as three days. This is the initiative of the President; it entered the parliament in the regime of legislative necessity. Today, amendments to a series of laws were considered by deputies of the Committee on Social Policy and Health.

The relevant committee supported the presidential initiative. It will be sent for consideration to the entire deputy corps in two readings at once.

Deputies of the Committee also considered amendments to the law on social protection of disabled people and on employment. Disabled people of the first and second groups will have the opportunity to register with the employment center. Now they are not given such an opportunity. Only disabled people of the third group can work. The specialists of the center will help people with disabilities find a job and create the conditions for quick adaptation at the workplace. All this will help to eliminate social discrimination and increase the degree of protection of persons with disabilities so that they feel like full members of society.

Sergey Cheban considers that the initiative deserves special attention. According to statistics, out of 18 thousand people with disabilities work a little more than a thousand people. Deputies will consider amendments to the law on social protection of disabled people at one of the next plenary meetings.
