Deputies at the regular meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Culture discussed two initiatives of the President directed to the Supreme Council in the regime of legislative necessity. It is about improving the provisions of the law "On Higher and Postgraduate Professional Education" and the Labor Code.

In the course of election campaign, Vadim Krasnoselsky promised to restore the principle of election of rectors, first of all, the main university of the country - the Pridnestrovian State University. As founder of the PSU, the president issued this year, January 16 decree to appoint Stepan Beril acting rector "Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko". The instructions were received to organize and carry out on a competitive basis rector elections of the main university of the country in the period until April 30.

In addition, the president said Vadim Krasnoselsky consider the norm unjust, according to which the rector, dean, head of the institute, head of the department may not be a person older than 65 years. Removing age limits - this is the essence of the proposed initiatives of the President.

In the course of the meeting, the responsible State Advisor to the President of the Supreme Council Committee Anna Volkova presented the views of the President. At the same time, she said, there are requirements for applicants rector's post to the candidates: PhD and academic titles "Professor" or "Honored Worker" in relation to the rector of the Pridnestrovian State Institute of Arts. Holders of these same degrees and ranks are people, mostly of retirement age.

The competition for the posts of rector, deans, heads of institutions, heads of departments in accordance with the regulations of the university, which is approved by the President, will be conducted every five years by secret ballot.

Members of the Committee will recommend colleagues to adopt the law-in-draft, submitted by the President in the regime of legislative necessity, in two readings.
