Free hearing aids

Participants in military operations during the Great Patriotic War will receive hearing aids free of charge. They do not need to establish a disability group, only medical indications are required to do this. The initiative was considered by the deputies of the Committee on Social Policy. They will recommend adopting the relevant amendments to the law "On social protection of war veterans" in two readings at once.

46 participants in the Great Patriotic War were registered in the cities and regions of the republic at the beginning of 2021 according to the Unified State Social Insurance Fund. Hearing aid prices vary by brand, manufacturer and capacity. For example, according to the Republican Center for Prosthetics and Orthopedics, a hearing aid for people with severe and profound hearing loss costs about 7650 rubles, and a BTE baseline hearing aid costs over 3500 rubles. The average cost of hearing aids is more than 5.5 thousand rubles.

It is necessary to provide additional funding in the republican budget in the amount of about 257 thousand rubles to provide them with 46 veterans. If the law-in-draft is adopted, the money will be put into the budget for 2022.
