The Parliamentary Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex, Industry, Transport, Construction and Natural Resources in the second reading at today's meeting considered the PMR Prosecutor's law-in-draft on introducing amendments to the law “On compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners”. The Prosecutor's Office receives requests from citizens who do not receive written information from insurance companies about the decision made to refuse to pay insurance compensation, since the current version of the law does not contain provisions that directly oblige the motor insurers to notify the victim in writing about the refusal of insurance payment due to the non-occurrence of an insured event. The prosecutor's office notes that this circumstance does not allow the victim to timely protect his violated rights, as well as challenge the decision made by the insurer in the insurance supervisory authority or in court. The Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex and Transport prepared a table of 16 amendments for adoption for the second reading, agreed upon with the author of the law-in-draft and the Government and clarify some articles of the law. The Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex and Transport recommends that the law-in-draft and the table of amendments be adopted by the deputy corps in the second final reading at one of the plenary meetings of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The relevant committee considered in the first reading today the law-in-draft on amendments to the law “On the PMR Road Fund”, prepared by committee deputies. The initiative adjusts the rules regulating the procedure for paying fees for entry and travel on the roads of Pridnestrovie for vehicles not registered in the PMR. The amendments will give in particular the payer the right to pay a fee for travel on our roads for vehicles with a gross weight of more than 18 tons, not registered in the PMR, before actually entering the territory of Pridnestrovie. The payer will have the right to pay the fee for travel through the territory of the PMR to such vehicles for a new period before the expiration of the period established for payment of the fee, while leaving without paying additional sanctions.
The Committee will recommend this law-in-draft to be adopted in the course of the plenary meeting of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the first reading.
