The PMR Supreme Council received law-in-draft from the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, according to which it is proposed to increase the period of payment of childcare benefits by 6 months from May 1, 2021. This allowance at the moment is paid until the child is 1 year 6 months old. After the adoption of the law-in-draft the period of payment will be extended until the child reaches 2 years of age.
Today the initiative of the PMR President was considered by the deputies of the Committee on Social Policy, Healthcare, Labor, Family and Childhood Issues. The changes will affect citizens who receive an allowance in the amount of 110 minimum wage (1067 rubles), and those who receive an allowance in the amount of 80 minimum wage (776 rubles).
It is necessary for the initiative to take effect to amend several legislative acts, including the laws on the republican budget and the budget of the Unified State Social Insurance Fund for this year, the law on state guarantees to citizens with children, and others. The same law-in-draft proposes to increase the minimum wage from 25.5 to 31 minimum wage (from 247.35 rubles to 300.70 rubles) the allowance for children under 16 for some low-income categories of citizens. Minister of Social Protection and Labor Elena Kulichenko presenting the law-in-draft noted that additional funds for the payment of these benefits will be provided in the republican budget and the budget of the Unified Fund of State Insurance.
The deputies of the Committee on Social Policy, Healthcare, Labor, Family and Childhood Issues considered and approved the law-in-draft of the PMR President and will recommend the Supreme Council to adopt it in two readings at the next plenary session. It will take place on May 26.
