Parliamentarians took part in the joint meeting of Tiraspol and Bendery City Council, held at the Capital site. The idea of ​​working in such format appeared long time ago. There are many issues that require generalized discussion.

Deputies of new convocation discussed three legislations: "On the municipal unitary enterprises", "On the election of the heads of administrations of cities and regions" and "On the representative bodies of state power and local self-government" in the first joint meeting of Tiraspol and Bendery. City Deputies had the opportunity of negotiations with the author of these initiatives - parliamentarian Oleg Vasilaty. He said that the legislations are under consideration by the Supreme Council. The law-in- draft "On the representative bodies of state power and local self-government" at the last plenary session was adopted in the first reading. This is a new, much-needed for the legal framework of the republic document. It establishes a legal basis for the existence of the system of representative government, and the interaction of its individual elements. That is, in fact, the author proposes to approve the conceptual framework and prescribe the organizational aspects. This is required by the current lack of coordination not only in the various legislative acts, but also in the various articles of the Constitution. Head of the Capital Council Albina Ivanova, said that this initiative is extremely relevant for Tiraspol. Its adoption will help, for example, to resolve finally the urgent problem with the approval of the City Council authorized apparatus.

The issue of electing the heads of administrations of cities and districts was not less important. It has been discussed for many years. There have always sounded different opinions on this matter: someone supposes that the head should be appointed, while others insist on the appropriateness of their election. The preference in Pridnestrovian practice is given to the target system. It was decided a few years ago that heads of state administrations should be part of the government. This moment also proved to be controversial. In 2013, we started talking seriously about the elective of heads. There are round tables in towns and districts of the republic. Fifteen parliamentarians signed the initiative for amending the Constitution. The law-in-draft had not received the required number of votes, but the deputies and the public were unanimous in the opinion that it is long past time to do local government reform.

Municipal unitary enterprise was listed as the subject of a separate discussion. They talked about the fact that every second MUP today is unprofitable. The participants suppose that the finances of such companies should be transparent and open.

As for the prospects of further cooperation of the Councils, then it was decided to make regular joint meetings. A range of issues that interested deputies of different cities has been already created. Next time it will probably about creating a "barrier-free environment" for people with disabilities, the interaction in the sphere of tourism and the implementation of social projects, reforming the sphere of individual entrepreneurship. Topics of public awareness about payment and terms of fulfillment of duties by various departments, for example, the passport office are of mutual interest. There is a proposal to discuss the question of whether all performed works were placed in the public access. These and many other topics will be the subject of future joint meetings of deputies of Bendery and Tiraspol City Council.
