The Tasks for the Future

It is planned in the second half of July to complete the work of the VII session of the sixth convocation of the Supreme Council. The last plenary meetings are scheduled for July 10 and 17. Tomorrow the meeting of the Supreme Council will preface the message of President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President will address the Pridnestrovian people and state authorities. Next, the legislators will review the agenda.

On July 17, a number of legislations were submitted, that members of the Presidium of the Supreme Council discussed today. Among them there is the introduction of amendments to the laws “On Immunoprophylaxis of Infectious Diseases” and “On Donation”. As the head of the Social Policy Committee, Sergei Cheban, explained, the goal of the second legislative initiative is to improve the material well-being of people who are awarded the sign “Honorary Donor of the PMR” or a similar sign of the USSR or MSSR.

Before leaving on parliamentary vacations, deputies are planning to consider changes and addendum to the law “On the republican budget for 2019”. One of the legislations is aimed at implementing measures to ensure the functioning of the State Unitary Enterprise "Republican Dentistry" in terms of providing social guarantees in the sphere of health protection of privileged categories of citizens. The law-in-draft proposes that the list of socially protected items of expenditures of various levels of budgets to be financed as a matter of priority include the cost of financing the state order for the provision of services for the manufacture and repair of dental prostheses to citizens who are provided by current legislation for preferential dentures. The second initiative is aimed at approving the program for the purchase of medical equipment and ambulances for health facilities. As noted by the Minister of Health Alexey Tsurcan, we are talking about the need to replace equipment of the Soviet period.

When forming the list of programs, the instructions of the president and the interests of the subordinate institutions themselves were taken into account. Deputies of the Supreme Council took part in the discussion of the program.

The Committee on Social Policy on the eve considered another socially significant law-in-draft that amends the Law on Employment of the Population and a conceptually changing approach to calculating the amount of unemployment benefits for citizens from January 1, 2020. The law-in-draft submitted by the Government is submitted for consideration in the first reading. A group of legislators - members of the Legislation Committee - prepared a number of amendments to this law. The authors propose to clarify the circle of persons in respect of whom measures of social guarantees are implemented in this area, in order to provide employment opportunities for people who are citizens of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and live long (more than one year) in the territory of the republic on the basis of registration at the place of stay.

On July 17, the deputies will also hear a government report on activities in 2018.
