The Supreme Council highly appreciated the work of the PMR Prosecutor's Office in 2020

The PMR Prosecutor's Office carried out inspections in terms of violation of the labor rights of citizens, the requirements of housing, land legislation, in the sphere of economy, social protection and other areas. The Head of the supervisory body Anatoly Guretsky Speaking at the plenary online meeting of the Supreme Council noted that the work of the PMR Prosecutor's Office last year was affected by the pandemic. The number of applications from Pridnestrovians increased - only 5241 - about the violation of their rights. This figure is 2.6% more compared to 2019.

Deputies of the Supreme Council were interested in the issue of non-payment of wages to workers. According to Anatoly Guretsky, 184 orders were issued on the collection of wage arrears in 2020. It amounted to more than 2.5 million rubles. This amount was 2 million 243 thousand rubles in 2019. The PMR prosecutor expressed concern that decisions on arrears are unenforceable: enterprises, being in the stage of bankruptcy, cannot fulfill their obligations to pay salaries to employees.

The head of the supervisory authority focused on conducting inspections in terms of compliance with the law on citizens' appeals. Such an order was given by the PMR President in 2019 and 2020. The work of the Prosecutor's Office for the ministries and departments of the republic was intensified. Based on the results of the inspections, the Prosecutor of the Republic Anatoly Guretsky sent law-in-draft to the Supreme Council to eliminate the identified gaps and inaccuracies in the legislation. Amendments and addendum to the law "On appeals of citizens and legal entities, as well as public associations" were adopted by the Supreme Council and signed by the PMR President.

Anatoly Guretsky informed the deputies about the checks carried out in the sphere of protecting the rights of orphans and children left without parental care. 5 facts of illegal refusal to be included in the lists of citizens entitled to extraordinary provision of housing were revealed, the Prosecutor noted.

The PMR Prosecutor's Office during the quarantine period received applications from citizens through the Internet reception, by mail and through special boxes located at the entrance to the buildings of territorial supervisory bodies, hotline was organized.

The leadership of the Parliament expressed gratitude to the PMR Prosecutor's Office for the work done.

Vice Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeyeva focused on close cooperation between the Supreme Council and the Prosecutor's Office. The supervisory authority sent 21 legislative initiatives in 2020.

The report of the PMR Prosecutor on the state of law and order in the republic and the work done by the supervisory body for the last year was approved by the deputies of the Supreme Council in the course of the plenary session.
