A new building for the traffic militia and Interdistrict Registration and Examination Department was opened in Bendery

06.11.2024

A new building of the city's traffic militia department and Interdistrict Registration and Examination Department is opened in the "Shelkovy" microdistrict of Bendery after a major overhaul. Construction work was carried out for several years under the Capital Investment Fund. These services were located previously in different parts of the city in emergency buildings. Now they will be located at one address – Timiryazev Street, 2a. The changes were made for the convenience of Bendery residents. The new building has spacious corridors, offices and a spacious hall for visitors.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov was present at the grand opening. In an interview with the parliamentary press service, the speaker said that in the late 1990s, he served for several years in the traffic militia department as a senior inspector for administrative practice. At that time, the traffic militia building, built at the beginning of the 20th century, had narrow and inconvenient corridors for visitors, noted Alexander Korshunov.

The two-story building in Timiryazev Street housed the emergency rescue unit previously. The building had been empty since the 1990s. A decision was made to reconstruct it in 2021. The Interdistrict Registration and Examination Department and the duty unit will be located on the first floor now. The entire department of the Bendery State Traffic Inspectorate is on the second floor. The employees of the traffic militia department and the Interdistrict Registration and Examination Department  will move to the new building in the near future.

Complete the renovation of the building was the order of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky at the beginning of this year. The President noted at the grand opening that today is a significant day for the two teams of the militia departments and for the residents of Bendery. Vadim Krasnoselsky called the work of law enforcement officers and the reception of citizens in the "pre-revolutionary" building a forced "mockery of people." The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic emphasized that the infrastructure is very important, but the most important thing is the personnel. The plans include creating decent conditions for the patrol and guard service of Bendery.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov spoke about the need to improve the conditions of service and create comfortable conditions for Pridnestrovians.

The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will celebrate their professional holiday on November 10. In honor of the date, the set of restored motorcycles of the Soviet era was replenished. The Speaker of the Parliament together with the President and the Minister of Internal Affairs viewed the exhibition of retro equipment, organized on the open area in front of the new building.

Speaker Alexander Korshunov on the eve of the professional holiday, wished the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs long years of health, prosperity, warmth in their homes, love in their hearts and peace above their heads.
