22.06.2022

Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank Vladislav Tidva presented to the deputies of the Supreme Council a report on the work of the bank for 2021. The document describes the main activities of the PRB. For example, on maintaining a stable exchange rate of the Pridnestrovian ruble, on the participation of commercial banks in programs for preferential mortgage lending, non-cash payments and economic indicators in industry and agriculture.

2021 has become a period of recovery of the global economy after the crisis caused by the pandemic, Vladislav Tidva stressed while speaking to the deputies. At the same time, there was a global rise in prices – in all segments of the world economy. The volume of industrial production last year increased by almost 11%, agricultural producers harvested 3 times more crops and covered the losses of 2020. The volume of GDP increased by a quarter ($2,584 per capita), as well as the amount of investment,.

Vladislav Tidva stressed that one of the important activities of the Central Bank is to ensure control (supervision) in the financial sector. By January 1, 2021, the entire range of measures established by the law on stabilization of the banking system has been fully implemented, all banks comply with the necessary regulatory requirements, and the capital is at a sufficient level. The PRB continued to operate a mechanism for subsidizing interest rates on loans in priority sectors for the purchase of fixed assets and other support programs as part of lending to legal entities in addition to standard programs. 153 enterprises mainly agricultural have been able to use loans over the years of the program.

Regarding lending to individuals, there was also an increase in the total amount of loans to the population by 0.9%, to 1.16 billion rubles. Work was also carried out with regard to lending to individuals: the measures taken made it possible, on the one hand, to reduce the risks of banks, and on the other hand, to ensure the protection of the interests of individual borrowers by limiting their debt burden.

At the same time, the regulatory measures taken by the Central Bank related to limiting the debt burden and stimulating borrowing in the currency in which the borrower receives the main income made it possible, on the one hand, to reduce the risks of banks, and on the other hand, to protect the interests of individual borrowers. As a result, overdue accounts payable of individuals decreased by 2.4 times, amounting to 3.5% of retail lending as of January 1, 2022.

The Pridnestrovian Republican Bank Chairman noted: non-cash payments were developing dynamically in 2021. Combining the two payment systems into a single one - "Klever" - allowed to increase both the number of outlets where they accept cards for payment, and the number of users of the payment system. The number of local payment cards issued by Pridnestrovian banks increased by 6.2% in 2021, to 306304 units. It was possible to use cashless payments when paying for goods (works, services) using payment cards at 4281 outlets (+22.6% by January 1, 2021). In addition, banks implemented a service for transferring funds from card to card of individuals - clients of different banks, before that this service existed only within the client base of one bank. This has significantly increased the functionality and availability of money transfers in the country.

The Supreme Council adopted a Resolution on its approval after listening to the entire report on the activities of the PRB in 2021.
