On November 1, 2024, Secondary School No. 3 named after Chekhov celebrated its 80th anniversary in Tiraspol. Distinguished guests came to congratulate the school on its anniversary - Deputy of the Supreme Council for District No. 28 "Central" Ilona Tyuryaeva, deputies of the Tiraspol City Council, veterans of pedagogical work, graduates and, of course, current students and teachers of the school.

School No. 3 has come a long and eventful way over the years of its work. The school was founded as a seven-year school on October 15, 1944, immediately after the liberation of Tiraspol from the fascist invaders. It became a ten-year school in 1947. The school proudly began to bear the name of the great Russian writer In 1960, on the 100th anniversary of Anton Chekhov's birth. It moved to the building on the corner of Karl Marx Street and Gagarin Boulevard, where the third school is now, in 1963. Over 80 years, the school has graduated more than 3,500 graduates, including 143 medalists. Many of its graduates became doctors, engineers, scientists, professionals in their field, who contributed to the development of Tiraspol and the country. Last academic year, School No. 3 took second place in the republican ranking of schools based on the results of the Unified State Exam. The best teachers of the school at the event were awarded state and departmental awards for their contribution to the education and upbringing of schoolchildren. Veterans of pedagogical work, who laid the foundation for current successes, also received well-deserved congratulations, and the memory of the teachers who passed away was honored with a minute of silence.

Nina Kotenko has almost 40 years of teaching experience, dozens of graduating classes and a sea of ​​knowledge. The teacher was awarded a state award like her colleagues today. Nina Kotenko received the medal "For Distinction in Labor" from the hands of deputy Ilona Tyuryaeva for many years of work and work with pupils.

The warm atmosphere of the event was emphasized by musical performances by pupils and teachers, reminding those gathered of the traditions and history of the educational institution named after the classic of world literature Anton Chekhov.
