A systematic approach to fulfilling social obligations of the state

25.12.2019

During the press conference of the Chairman of the Supreme Council, journalists were interested in legislations of social nature. Alexander Korshunov considers that a systematic approach is important when fulfilling the state’s social obligations. Point support of a number of categories of citizens does not always bring a positive effect, it is necessary to set targets, the Parliament Speaker is sure. Speaking about the implementation of the state program for providing housing for orphans for 2018–2027, Alexander Korshunov cited statistics according to which as of January 1, 2017, there were more than 700 orphans over the age of 18 in the republic who needed their own housing.

In the autumn session, the deputy corps adopted changes regarding the provision of the opportunity for orphans to choose the type of housing: an apartment or a residential building. The implementation of this state program is designed until 2027.

Speaking about a systematic approach, the Parliament Speaker focused on the goal of another state program adopted by the Supreme Council earlier this year - “Equal Opportunities” for 2019–2022.

According to the Speaker, it is planned to finance Soviet deposits payments in 2020. The next year’s budget for these purposes includes amounts of 14 million rubles. Payments will be received by those born before 1945 inclusive.

Next year, the implementation of the program of the Fund of Voters' Orders will continue. The program was first launched in 2018. 100 thousand rubles were allocated for each constituency (total 43). The amount for this year has been doubled - 200 thousand rubles. Amounts for the year 2020 remained the same.

Answering journalists' questions, Alexander Korshunov praised the work of deputies of the Supreme Council in constituencies. The parliamentarians are quite active, the voters' comments about them are positive, the Head of the legislature noted. Optimization of the number of deputies (from 43 to 33 deputies) will enable citizens to make better and considered choices, added Alexander Korshunov.
