The Deputy Minister of Education Svetlana Turchak presented the report on the situation of children in 2014 to parliamentarians. She emphasized the main indicators in the sphere of health, nutrition and education. So, there was in 2014 an increased incidence among the pupils of kindergartens and schools in comparison with the previous year. Basically cases of diseases of the respiratory system were detected. It increased the rate of mental disorders. It was also revealed over 3 million HIV infected minors. The largest number 717 cases were registered in Rybnitsa. With regard to nutrition in preschool institutions, representative offices focused attention on its insufficiency. There is a problem in kindergartens Kamenka. Meanwhile, Bendery situation with children's nutrition is much better.
According to Deputy Minister, the average representation of groups in preschool child was 16.4 at a rate of 15 people. Totally 157 institutions of preschool education operate in the republic, 31 complex - secondary school - kindergarten. At the same time there are no kindergartens in the 34 settlements.
Svetlana Turchak called weak schools qualified teaching staff as the main problem in the system of education. Shortage of specialists for the education of children with special educational needs is particularly acute in the sector. According to Deputy Minister, this is due to "aging and moral exhaustion of the staff". School kitchens equipment updating also requires solutions. The representative of the department received a number of parliamentary questions after the completion of the report.
As it was noted by Svetlana Turchak, 31% of schools with Russian language, 46% Ukrainian schools, about 35% Moldavian are equipped with new generation of textbooks under 7 years old.
Parliamentarians also raised the issue of the possible establishment of the school of Olympic reserve, the need for a school discipline, as the Orthodox culture. Deputies are also interested in the possibility of learning children in rural schools in the 10-11-graders.
Information hour of the executive authority was proposed in the course of the plenary session for a discussion of current issues and problems in the sphere of education. According to the decision of the deputies the State report on the situation of children in 2014 was taken into consideration. Deputies of the profile parliamentary committee on social policy requested to revise the norms nutritional status of children in the republic, which in comparison with Russian standards is much lower.
