Young parliamentarians organized and held a round table on the topic "Bullying as a social phenomenon". The deputies of the Youth Parliament invited representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as psychologists to participate.
Young deputies have been working on the problem of bullying in educational institutions of the republic for the last few months. Everyone who participates in the work of the Youth Parliament today has faced bullying in one form or another, as the chairman of the Youth Parliament Roman Efodiev noted. Someone was a witness of school bullying, and some were its object. Parliamentarians have developed a questionnaire to begin with, in order to find out the real situation today. The questionnaires were divided into three groups: for elementary school students, for grades 5-9 and for high school students. They were interested in whether the interviewees encountered bullying at school in one form or another, whether there was bullying on the part of teachers. The survey was conducted anonymously in all cities and districts of the republic in every school almost. The Youth Parliament after that summed up the results, which were announced at the round table meeting.
It was noted at the round table that the problem of bullying at school is relevant not only for Pridnestrovie. Ilona Klimenko, who represented the Republican Scientific and Methodological Council on Psychology, noted that every fifth teenager faces bullying at school so in Russia. We have a different situation in each town. It is also important here, the psychologist added, to distinguish conflicts that exist always and everywhere from real bullying, and to react as quickly as possible to the slightest manifestation of it.
The deputies of the Youth Parliament consider that the problem of bullying at school should be under constant strict control of the Ministry of Education, law enforcement agencies and teachers directly on the ground. First of all, psychologists noted, the contact of the child with the parents is important. Sociable, self-confident and protected by parents, the child will easily rebuff the offender.
The Youth Parliament deputies will continue working on the problem and ways to solve such a phenomenon as bullying in schools. They plan together with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to develop an algorithm of actions for teenagers who are being bullied, for their parents and teachers, so that possible bullying can be stopped at the very beginning.
