The PMR Supreme Council Chairman announced Plans for the Spring Session

19.01.2022

Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov spoke about the plans for the spring session that was opened today, on the 19th of January. The Speaker emphasized that the Parliament will continue to focus on the points outlined in the PMR Development Strategy until 2026 in its work. It is this strategic document that Government authorities are guided by when making management decisions.

“The Supreme Council will continue to focus on reducing the consequences of the pandemic both for the economy and for improving the lives of citizens in the face of geopolitical uncertainty and an unstable situation. The social sphere is a very large and important layer of issues that need to be addressed constantly. Voters turn to deputies with requests, questions, and problems. It is often on the basis of these appeals that amendments to the current legislation are worked out and developed. Life flows, society and the surrounding world are changing, so changing the current legislation in my opinion is a normal process, and, as international practice has shown it works in many states,” Alexander Korshunov noted.

The Supreme Council Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic emphasized that the Parliament and Deputies in their legislative activities will also be guided by the goals and objectives set by the PMR President. Vadim Krasnoselsky, the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic will announce the traditional Address to the bodies of state power and administration.

“In fact, all was completed from the points outlined by Vadim Nikolayevich last year, including the increase in wages and pensions, maternity and childhood benefits. Together with the Government, we did a lot of work to form a balanced budget for 2022 in terms of income and expenditure, continued to work on the formation of state programs, including programs to provide housing for orphans and pay restored Soviet contributions, did a lot of work to find sources of financing for the Road fund, the Fund for the Development of Land Reclamation, Support for the Agro-Industrial Complex, continued work to improve the law on public procurement,” said the Parliament Speaker.

Alexander Korshunov noted that the formation of the Budget Code continues. The document is currently in progress.

“I hope that joint work with the Government and the President will lead to the final result and the Budget Code will appear in the PMR legislation”, said the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov.
