Exactly a century ago, the night of July 16-17, the last Russian emperor Nicholas II, his wife, daughter and Tsarevich Alexei were shot in Yekaterinburg's basement of the Ipatiev House. They were martyred. In memory of the tragic events of those days in recent years, the Russian Orthodox Church has been performing services at a time when royal cruelties were deprived of life. This tradition was also supported in Pridnestrovie. Last year, such a divine service was performed in the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese, in the Alexander Nevsky church in Bendery. The current year was not an exception. The Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba, his colleagues in the deputy corps Ivan Nedelkov, Victor Guzun, Oleg Bayev, Ruslan Gareev, Sergei Pisarenko became witnesses of the divine liturgy, which was performed by the archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Savva and the clergy of the diocese.
Commemorative events began with the procession of the parishioners who passed from the Transfiguration Cathedral in the center of Bendery to the chapel of the holy royal martyrs and holy new martyrs and confessors of the Russian Orthodox Church. ROC of all innocently murdered in 1918 members of the royal family ranked as saints. The erection of the chapel began last year, yesterday its building was consecrated.
The family of the last Russian Tsar is closely connected with Pridnestrovie. They were in Tiraspol and Bendery in 1904, 1914, 1915 and 1916. Their visits have already become a part of the history of our region.
At one time, Tsar Nicholas II said: "There is no such sacrifice that I would not do for Russia's sake". Going up to Calvary, he sacrificed for the sake, for the sake of the Russian people. The Tsar is the anointed of God, and renunciation of the ruling monarchy was at that time a renunciation of the power of God. It was from those troubled times, from those fatal shots in the basement of the Ipatiev House, that dark times characterized by godlessness, the destruction of temples, the persecution of priests, and millions of victims came to Russia.
In honor of the last Russian emperor at the end of the divine liturgy the soloists of the Pridnestrovian state choir under the guidance of Tatyana Tverdohleb performed the hymn "God Save the Tsar". Its sounds were going to the vaults of the temple and then ascended to heaven.
The initiator of its restoration was Vadim Krasnoselsky, being the Minister of Internal Affairs.
The development of interaction between the church and the state the head of the republic awarded state awards to a number of clerics of the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese for the revival of spiritual and moral traditions. Among the awarded and known in Bendery patron, director of the local meat processing plant, a parishioner of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Valentina Zubkova. She was awarded the honorary title "Honored Worker of the PMR". Awarding her, the President said, "We will have a bright future with such people"
Father Anatoly presented a book "The Guard of the Bendery Fortress" within the framework of commemorative events.
In conclusion, the honorary guests held a tea party in a restored arbor, on the spot on May 8, 1916 the emperor, his wife and children also drank tea.
