Deputies of the parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Viktor Guzun and Vadim Kravchuk have developed amendments to the law on the republican budget for 2024. The law-in-draft proposes to supplement Article 52-1 with a provision according to which in 2024 one-time bonuses paid to public sector employees receiving additional payments up to the minimum wage will not be taken into account when calculating the amount of additional payments up to the minimum wage.
Some categories of employees of organizations in the sphere of education, physical education and sports, culture and art, sports and tourism, social security and others according to the legislation, are provided with an additional payment to their wages up to the minimum wage (minimum wage level) from the republican budget. The designated additional payment to such categories of public sector employees is not taken into account at the same time when calculating the amount of the additional payment up to the minimum wage. However, the following situation arises, in which employees of the public sector, whose wages are brought up to the minimum wage, the actually accrued wages are ultimately equalized, that is, in the case of accrual of a one-time bonus to a specific employee (for example, for a holiday or significant date), accrued wages are equal to the wages of the employee who did not receive the said one-time bonus, since the difference is covered by the additional payment up to the minimum wage in practice. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky gave an order to correct the current situation at one of the meetings in October. The relevant parliamentary committee will continue working on the legislative initiative for the second reading.
