International meeting was held at the Parliament. The Parliament Speaker Alexander Korshunov, Head of the Committee for the Development of Business and Industry Viktor Guzun hosted experts from Berlin Economics. The German company at the meeting was represented by analyst Dmitry Chervyakov and expert Thomas Otten.
Berlin Economics is an independent consulting company that provides peer review and advice on economics. The focus is on developing countries with transition economics. German specialists at various times rendered advice to Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova. This is not the first visit of German specialists to our republic.
As he noted, the head of the legislature Alexander Korshunov, welcoming the guests, the meetings at the parliamentary platform are constructive and systemic. The recommendations that are presented by experts of the company, for the most part are used in the activities of parliament and in making management decisions.
This working format of cooperation with German specialists has been around for several years. The subject of discussion was previously the pension system of the PMR, the monetary and budgetary, and fiscal policies pursued in the republic. They also talked about government support for investment activities, the main provisions and aspects of the adopted law, privileges and preferences granted to investors. Specialists of the German company also carried out an analysis of government spending, made recommendations to improve the social and economic situation of the republic.
The topic of this meeting is the discussion of issues related to business activities in Pridnestrovie. Representatives of the German company were interested in the features of the new tax laws for small businesses. As you know, the Supreme Council adopted a package of 10 laws reforming the current tax system for individual entrepreneurs in September last year. They were offered a choice of three tax regimes. These are the patent and simplified taxation systems, as well as the tax regime for self-employed persons.
As Victor Guzun explained during the meeting, the main criterion of the reform is equal tax burden and social guarantees for all business entities. Currently, there are about 21 thousand individual entrepreneurs in the republic.
The experts of Berlin Economics were also interested in what effect the state would have on the laws that were enacted starting April 1 of this year, and how they would affect the activities of individual entrepreneurs.
Commenting on the results of the meeting, the head of the relevant committee Viktor Guzun emphasized that it is important for deputies to understand the opinions of colleagues who are experts in economics.
Viktor Guzun supposes that everyone will benefit from this: both the state and businessmen, and law enforcement practice will show whether the new tax system will require adjustments in the future.
