About education of children and prestige of pedagogical professions

27.06.2019

The meeting of the consultative assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies was devoted to the topic of education. The information was made by the head of the relevant department Tatiana Loginova. The Minister focused on the state of the republic’s education system, shortage of personnel and raising of the prestige of teaching professions. Raising topical issues, she was interested in the opinion of the founders of the republic on the solution of existing problems in education.

Tatyana Loginova called the introduction of dual education a positive point. In her opinion, this innovation can partly solve the issue of shortage of mid-level personnel.

The minister focused on the shortage of teaching staff. This is primarily due to the low level of wages. According to the head of the department, graduate of the pedagogical direction receives 1600 rubles per month. The data among school graduates showed that only 4% of their total number see themselves in the profession of a teacher. The lack of prestige of pedagogical activity and the number of graduates of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Pridnestrovian State University confirms this. This year 5 people graduated from this profile. 60 vacancies will remain uncovered.

The Minister of Education touched on the topic of the USE. If the Russian language school graduates showed good results, then in mathematics, they leave much to be desired. For this reason, those who did not confirm the knowledge of the subject, “lost” medals. Only 330 graduates of the 380 applicants became medalists.

The first Pridnestrovian deputies also raised the issue of providing schools with textbooks on the basics of spiritual and moral education. Today, general education institutions are taught on this subject on the basis of methodological materials. The founders of the republic consider it is necessary to find budget funds for the production of specialized textbooks.
