About peasant (farming) households and small business

21.11.2024

Chairman of the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex Oleg Leontyev and Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy Viktor Guzun met with representatives of the PMR Public Chamber. They talked about the activities of peasant (farming) households and handicraft production in the republic.

The state supports peasant (farming) households at the legislative level today. They are provided with tax preferences, and receive preferential loans for the development and modernization of their production. However, not all farmers today can fully realize their potential, noted representatives of the Public Chamber of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

Public figures conducted on-site inspections in the cities and districts of the republic and talked with the entrepreneurs earlier. According to them, most often the difficulties are related to ignorance of the legal basis for doing business. There is a lack of specific knowledge on modernizing production.

The head of the parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Viktor Guzun recalled the current project "Business School" in the republic, which helps aspiring entrepreneurs develop their business. Money for the implementation of the project is allocated from the republican budget within the framework of the state program "Support and Development of Entrepreneurship in the PMR for 2023-2027". The deputy noted the possibility of holding additional training seminars for members of peasant (farming) households, where entrepreneurs could learn more about changes in legislation and the nuances of accounting, as well as innovative methods of running a business.

Deputies and public figures discussed current problems of handicraft production. As an example, they cited cheese production, which has become very popular today.

Public figures asked parliamentarians to review the requirements for certification and sanitary and epidemiological control for craft products. The Supreme Council deputies promised to study the issue in detail in the relevant Committees. Perhaps some of the problems voiced can be solved at the legislative level. The parliamentarians noted the importance of holding such meetings. They not only learn about existing problems during the discussion, but also hear specific proposals for their solution after all.
