The memory of Nikolai Ostapenko, who died on April 30, 1992 from numerous wounds, was honored with a minute of silence at the Glory Memorial in Tiraspol. On April 23, his car was fired upon by members of the Bujor terrorist group. Flowers to the grave of Nikolai Ostapenko were laid by the deputies of the Supreme Council and the Slobodzeya District City Council.
