Youth Parliament under the PMR Supreme Council sums up the results of the year

About 60 written appeals to officials of various government bodies, commercial and public associations on issues related to the activities of the Youth Parliament were sent in 2024. This is one of the figures of the preliminary results of the work in the outgoing year, which were announced today at a meeting of the Youth Parliament under the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. 4 conclusions on the draft laws of the Supreme Council were prepared and 2 legislative initiatives concerning the Pridnestrovian youth were sent. One of them – amendments to the law "On granting the right to discounted travel on public transport for certain categories of citizens" – was discussed at the meeting today.

The law establishes the right of students during the academic year from September 1 to July 1 to use a 25% discount on travel on city and suburban minibuses and a 50% discount on intercity transport. However, the students note that in many educational institutions, studies do not end on July 1.

Young parliamentarians propose amending the law "On granting the right to discounted travel on public transport for certain categories of citizens" and extending the period for granting the right to discounted travel on public transport for students until August 1. The draft legislative amendments will be sent for consideration to the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The head of the Youth Parliament noted that there are currently several more draft amendments to the current legislation in the committees, which will be submitted for consideration by the youth deputy corps next year.

The powers of the new deputies from Kamenka and Rybnitsa were recognized at the meeting of the Youth Parliament today. The heads of the Committees on Education and Culture and on Regional Policy and Housing and Utilities were elected. Young parliamentarians are enthusiastically getting down to work in order to take an active part in the life of the republic, just like their colleagues. The deputies of the Youth Parliament took part in city and republican events, some of which were organized by the Youth Parliament in 2024. For example, a sports tournament in Slobodzeya and the holding of the international action "Test on the History of the Great Patriotic War" in Pridnestrovie. The representative of the Ministry of Education thanked the youth parliament for its work and wished it further success.
