The Ministry of Justice of the PMR summed up the results of work last year

Specialists of the Ministry of Justice of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic conducted a legal and anti-corruption examination of 2386 draft legal acts, signed 353 laws in 2024. This was reported by the head of the department Alexandra Tumba in the course of the extended meeting of the board of the Ministry of Justice of the PMR on the results of work in 2024. Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council, Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislation, Protection of Rights and Freedoms of Citizens Galina Antyufeeva took part in the work of the board.

Alexandra Tumba spoke in detail about the work of the structural divisions of the Ministry of Justice – the State Bailiff Service, the State Registration and Notary Service and the State Supervision Service.

The Minister of Justice noted the ongoing work on digitalization in the provision of public services. The plans for 2025 include expanding the list of services provided by the department through the PMR State Services Portal.

The head of the department recalled that back in 2021, the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic pointed out the need to intensify work on entering the first copies of civil status acts drawn up before 1993 and stored in territorial departments of the Civil Registry Office into the electronic database. According to the data received, 814 thousand civil status acts registered before 1993 should be entered into the electronic database. However, work in this direction today leaves much to be desired, as the minister noted. It needs to be intensified.

Specialists from the State Supervision Service carried out 1761 control measures, during which they identified 8930 violations, issued 672 orders and 416 representations last year. Employees conducted 343 unscheduled inspections from May to October as part of measures to combat ragweed.

Bailiffs had 110152 enforcement proceedings in progress at the beginning of 2024. Another 85175 enforcement proceedings were initiated during the year. This is 27% more than in 2023. 61378 enforcement proceedings were completed. The average workload per bailiff was 3050 proceedings.

Bailiffs collected 113.5 million rubles and 67.5 thousand euros to budgetary and extra-budgetary funds, as well as in favor of organizations and individuals in 2024. The Supreme Council supported the amendments to the Law on Enforcement Proceedings in the second final reading, the purpose of which was to create a single electronic register of debtors in the republic in October 2024.

Special attention at the meeting of the board of the Ministry of Justice of the PMR was paid to the work of the State Penitentiary Service in 2024. The corresponding report was presented by the First Deputy Minister of Justice, Head of the State Penitentiary Service Vitaly Ishchenko. Information was voiced on the medical care provided to persons serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty, on their training in working specialties and the implementation of acquired professional skills. Thus, the production of vandal-proof tennis tables for the needs of the republic continued in 2024. The production of similar vandal-proof chess tables was launched.

The Prosecutor of the PMR Anatoly Guretsky and the Chairman of the Government of the PMR Alexander Rosenberg made comments and recommendations for improving the work of the Ministry of Justice and its divisions. The head of the highest executive authority gave the Ministry of Justice’s work last year a “satisfactory” rating on the instructions of the PMR President.
