Mikhail Burla, "It is necessary to improve the quality of vocational education"

13.07.2018

Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture Mikhail Burla in an interview with the parliamentary press service summarized the work of the fifth session of the VI convocation.

The work of the deputies of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture can be divided into four areas. First, it is law-making. I would like to single out a group of draft laws that have been drafted and adopted, connected with a single state examination. For several years, a complex mechanism operated. There were difficulties for applicants: different requirements for the number of USE, from the graduates required to determine in advance the form and subject of examinations. We have developed a package of legislations, thanks to which graduates this year passed two compulsory exams - mathematics and mother language. All other entrance examinations entrants will take in the university. The mechanism of admission to higher educational institutions has become much easier.

In addition, we have developed legislative changes that regulate the conduct of an additional set of entrants to unclaimed specialties. The Committee monitored the demographic situation. The state of affairs, from our point of view, is complicated. Large outflow of young people. An additional set of entrants, which will be held in August, will limit emigration. Guys who do not enter the popular profile will be able to get the opportunity to switch to a free direction. Applicants who did not enter universities of foreign countries will be able to return to continue their studies in Pridnestrovie. Citizens who served in the armed forces and quit after August 1 will try their hand as part of an additional set.

The second direction of the work of the Committee's deputies concerns strengthening ties with the foreign scientific community. We cooperate with many Russian universities, including Moscow and St. Petersburg universities. We are studying the normative base of Russia and adapting it for our region.

The third direction is participation in scientific and practical conferences. As Chairman of the Committee, I took part in various state commissions that evaluated the results of scientific work and received reports from various research laboratories.

I would like to highlight the fourth direction - work with the population. We constantly studied the needs of students, teachers, representatives of the scientific community in the sphere of education and science.

We must do everything possible to ensure that the maximum number of our graduates remains in Pridnestrovi. It is necessary to improve the quality of vocational education. The main task that faces all public authorities is to create jobs, so that, graduating from high school, graduates can find a job.
