Deputies of the Youth Parliament under the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic held a teleconference with a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Education Committee Alena Arshinova. First of all, young parliamentarians were interested in what Russian youth projects can be implemented in Pridnestrovie.
Vice-Speaker of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Elena Gorodetskaya, president of Pridnestrovian State University Stepan Beril and head of the Youth Policy department of the Ministry of Education of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Galina Ratushnyak joined the Russian-Pridnestrovian dialogue.
As Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Education of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alena Arshinova told the Pridnestrovians about some legislative initiatives in the field of youth policy, which are now being developed in the lower house of the Russian parliament. For example, one of these legislations proposes to introduce quotas for summer recreational holidays in Russia for children with disabilities.
Pridnestrovians focused on the topic of patriotic education of youth. Much attention has been paid to this issue both in the Russian Federation and in Pridnestrovie in recent years. A large number of patriotic projects are being implemented by the United Russia party on the territory of Russia. Among them there is the Hero's Party. A school desk is installed in Russian schools as part of this project, which contains information about an honored person, a hero who studied at this school.
Another party project that interested Pridnestrovians is the all-Russian project to support talented youth and young scientists "Mendeleev's Map". Young scientists under the age of 35, students and high school students-winners of Olympiads can take part in it. As Alena Arshinova said, the Mendeleev Card allows getting discounts on additional education and electronic libraries, participation in conferences and exhibitions, as well as discounts on travel and business trips – transport, hotels, cafes. Pridnestrovians who study at Russian universities can also take part in the project.
Such a meeting was the first for the Youth Parliament of the IV convocation. The plans include dialogues with State Duma deputies who represent the interests of Pridnestrovians in the Russian Parliament.
Deputies of the Youth Parliament Committee for the Development of a Healthy Lifestyle, Sports and Tourism took the initiative to hold such meetings not only with politicians, but also with outstanding Russian sportsmen. Alena Arshinova suggested making such meetings more massive, inviting Pridnestrovian sportsmen and coaches to them.
Both sides were satisfied with the outcome of the conversation. State Duma Deputy Alena Arshinova expressed her readiness to hold such meetings more often in order to be able to coordinate the implementation of joint projects. According to young parliamentarians, some issues may be included in the work plan of the Youth Parliament this year.
