Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexander Korshunov and Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance Viktor Guzun took part in online meeting of the Collegium of the State Customs Committee. The leadership of the State Customs Committee reported to the President of the PMR on the results of work in 2020. The Head of the State Customs Committee Vitaly Neagu emphasized in his report that the global epidemiological situation has largely predetermined the vector of the department's work in 2020, the presidential press service writes. The introduction and improvement of information technologies in the customs sphere has become one of the main directions.
Declaration of goods imported into Pridnestrovie, registration of individual entrepreneurs and payment of customs duties have been transferred into electronic format. The President noted that the transition to "electronic export" fully satisfied the expectations and allowed to exclude the corruption component. Vadim Krasnoselsky reminded the participants of the online meeting that quite recently it took up to a couple of weeks to complete the export declarations, whereas now the procedure takes from 1 to 7 minutes. The President emphasized that the next step should be the transition to "electronic import". The fact that the customs authorities of Pridnestrovie are working at the level of modern world trends, in the commentary to the parliamentary press service following the meeting of the Board of the State Customs Committee, noted the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR.
Vitaly Neagu noted that due to restrictions on foreign economic activity, the trade turnover of Pridnestrovie decreased by 10% last year. Accordingly, the income to the state treasury also decreased (by 9% or 73 million rubles). At the same time, it is important that the planned indicators are almost fully met: in the form of customs payments, the country's budget received 757 million rubles (half of the revenues of the republican budget).
The Head of the State Customs Committee spoke about the improvement of the regulatory framework in the customs sphere. Legislations were adopted that made it possible to streamline the procedure for granting benefits to participants in foreign economic activity in terms of taxation in 2020. The priority areas of the State Customs Committee's work are related to the elimination of administrative barriers in the customs area, improvement of customs procedures, their acceleration and simplification as well as liberalization in the area of foreign economic activity. The Head of the department emphasized that all changes in customs legislation and technologies are aimed at promoting the republic's foreign trade.
